Questions to Ask Before You Get Engaged

Do you think you have found the love of your life? Are you ready to be responsible for someone other than yourself for the rest of your life? If you are normal, your head is probably spinning with hundreds of questions, thoughts and emotions! More than likely, you have also spent quite a bit of time talking to a bunch of people and received lots of different opinions.

If you stop and think for a moment, one of the most important decisions you will ever make, aside from your decision to follow Christ as Lord and Savior, is whom you will marry. God designed marriage to be the most important human relationship on earth because marriage is meant to illustrate his relationship with us and to grow and change us to become more like Christ.

The following questions are designed to reveal if you are ready for marriage and to help you see if you are thinking about marrying the right person.  Take time to pray and be honest with yourself as you answer these questions.  This hard and honest effort should be done before you get engaged, as opposed to after you “pop the question” or before you say, “yes.”
